Energy Consumption Categories Energy Reduction 5 Buildings Electric Use by Facility Type Building Space vs. Energy Costs

The chart at left illustrates that we now have 7 percent more square feet of building space than we had in 2001. However, the university's energy costs for the last fiscal year ($50.5 million) are 77 percent greater than they were in 2001. The increase is due to rising fuel and electricity costs.
