Welcome

Art work - Since April 2006 Annual ReductionsAfter completing a nationally recognized five-year, $29 million investment in energy efficiency of the campus, UW-Madison initiated another aggressive program in 2006 to further strengthen its environmental stewardship practices and to promote education and motivation to the community on this important issue.

This program, under the banner of WE CONSERVE, set to reduce UW's annual energy consumption and environmental  footprint by 20% relative to 2006 levels.  With an additional investment of $40 million and full campus support that goal was achieved in 2010, making us one of the most accomplished universities in the sustainability arena.

Building on these achievements, we are determined to make our campus enormously sustainable and our community highly informed and engaged.  Our ideas, decisions, and practices will demonstrate to the world that conservation and waste prevention is smart, possible, painless, and essential.

This website is intended to seek your input and ideas for achieving this important goal and to help facilitate communication and education to all. Please get involved and Be a Waste eliminator!

Thank you!
